Turn your midlife crisis to your own advantage by making it a time for renewal of your body and mind, rather than stand by helplessly and watch them decline.~~Jane E. Brody
Lawyer, Bio & Barb- You guys were saying music to my ears. I do not particularly care for TJ myself. I have a disk problem in my back and those videos aggravate it. Also, I don't get much of a workout because it is a constant struggle to keep up with punching & kicking queen. I blame Turbo Jam for me vidiot demise.
I have The Firm Express Cardio and Hips, Thighs and Abs that I would be happy to get off my hands if anyone is interested. They just aren't for me.
If anyone is wanting to try step aerobics and is a newbie Gin Miller's "Everybody Steps" is worth purchasing. I really enjoy it but it is easy to master.
Is there another challenge in the future? I think a Vidiot Choice would be doable. Everybody has their favorite videos and they could do what works for them. I am a vidiot failure for this challenge but would like to turn over a new exercise leaf because I am becoming all squishy from the lack of exercise and need to firm up before summer arrives.

BoxerMom - I was thinking that if we're going to have another challenge, maybe we could do a monthly "vidiot choice challenge," where everyone signs up for a certain number of video workouts per month, and then does whatever they want. That way, we won't burn out on certain routines, and can do other types of exercise as well. Don't know whether people would want to finish this challenge before starting something like that, or whether we could do a signup for March.

I really like the Vidiot challenge but I agree that we ought to make it a 'pick your favorite' and commit for each month. That way each of us can set our own goals with the videos we already have and love but have a common thread to whine in and check with if we're considering a purchase of a new routine. We all ought to post our goals in our siggies as usual and keep track of our progress with our commitment.
PS - Please slug me since the last time I checked in - I've not exercised until today.

Goal!:
OK, I started back with Start It Up this morning. Taking it slow and see how it goes. Felt a couple "pings" in the back, but no real pain. Yesterday was my first full day of no pain, of course I didn't do anything but cook and recouperate from having the kids here for days. I'm going to shoot for Cool It Down later. We'll see how it goes!!

Val, I tried to give TJ a real shot, but DH & I are just not coordinated enough to appreciate her type of workout. Maybe after I lose 50 pounds or so, I'll give her another chance. I like the idea of Vidiot's choice, too.
FloydGirl-
Don't feel like you are outnumbered by enjoying TJ. I was blessed with no coordination and TJ is actually more of a mental workout for me than physical because I can't make my arms and legs do what my brain is telling me. It's just a no-win workout for the coordination-impaired vidiots.
Lawyer, Slim & Others: I'm up to a vidiot challenge and will start whenever someone says Go.

I don't want to derail this thread, so how about those of us who are ready for a March vidiots' choice challenge simply add the number of days we're pledging to our signature and continue to post here?
I'll post a general thread pointing people here as well, and maybe we'll get some new folks.

Just posted this over in the exercise challenges forum - Hope no one here minds!
My thought is that people who want to continue with the TJ/SS challenge can do so, and others can pledge a number of workouts for March. We can all continue to meet here to commiserate regardless of which challenge we're doing.

Hi Everyone - As many of you know, several of us who enjoy suffering (I mean, working out) to videos have been posting over in the Vidiots House of Pain Part Deux in the Exercise forum as part of a couple of challenges.
In March, we've decided to do a "Vidiots choice challenge," where you pledge a certain number of days to workout with videos, and then choose whatever you want to do on a certain day: pilates, yoga, step aerobics, rebounding, circuit training, weights, stretching - anything you want.
New members are very much wanted!!! If you're interested, just post here with a pledge for a certain number of days and add it to your signature.
Then, come join us in the Exercise forum in the House of Pain Part Deux to discuss everything video related.
Can't wait to meet new people!

I did Cardio Party 1 today and Tamilee's floor stretch. I like Cardio Party a lot better than the 20 minute workout. It seemed like she went a little slower, and the kicks were less frenetic. And it's nice to feel like I actually got a good cardio workout, which I never feel with the YBB lives, even though I really like those. CP still isn't one of my favorites, though.

This was a lot of fun. But, it still isn't what I would call intense exercise. Its ok for a "light duty" day. Its my favorite of the YBB series so far.
