One more ?. Does fitday subtract carbs for you, or do i go to the nutritional goal with fiber and subtract myself?

Blazing, I believe you have to set a fiber goal for it to show subtracted fiber.

Click on goals, and a chart should pop up. Fiber should be one of the goal options. Type a number (ANY number will work, just choose something--a number has to be set as a goal for it to show and subtract fiber) in the minimum intake and the maximum intake. Save changes, and go back to your foods screen. Fiber should now be shown below your carbohydrate grams. You have to subtract the fiber from the total carbs shown to get your net carbs for the day.

Your percentages will still be the same--your percentages are based off calories, and since fiber HAS no calories, subtracting it does not affect your "Atkins" percentages.

Not quite. I think Don (gonnabskinny) would take offense to the insinuation that he's female. He *did* ask what bikini he should wear for his starting pics, though. LOL!

Tomorrow we won't have a discussion topic, as it's Friday, and many of you will be busy getting ready for the weekend...and many can't check in during the weekend. Our next group of chapters will be 4, 5, and 6. So look them over, think of some discussion topics, and write down your questions!

HELP! This morning is had just a small amount of ketosis on the stick, and i was worried, cuz usually i'm around moderate to high. So when I came home i tried again, and now there is NO TRACE.....I added back 5 carbs yesterday( extra salad). So, does going to 25 knock you out of ketosis? can you still lose weight that way? I am so confused right now. Is it because i have not worked out in 3 days?

I have some good news, but it is not pounds or inches...

The good news is that my family doctor is all about low-carb...now he never said Atkins, but low-carb because he thinks if you have to take diabetes meds like me, then low-carb is how you need to live.

The super good news is that I got some lab work done and just from two weeks, the doctor is letting me drop one of my glucophage tabs a day so down from 1,500 to 1,000...not too shabby!

traces is your aim, it means your not dehydrated and you are in ketosis.

no traces - numerous things - medication, TOM, recent exercise, testing in the morning or a dodgy stick

if you eat under 100 carbs your body will be in ketosis... you can be in ketosis and NOT lose weight.

this is why the sticks are kinda pointless.... i had them the first time round, still have some left but ive not used them, i dont need too, its just another bloody addiction like the scales.
